Protecting your personal data matters to us. This policy explains which personal data E&S Swiss Consulting GmbH processes when you visit www.essc.ch or send us an enquiry. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we comply with it as well.

2. Visiting the website (server log files)
When you open our website, the server automatically stores technical data in log files: IP address, date and time, page requested, status code, amount of data transferred, the previously visited page (referrer), and browser type and operating system.
We need this data to deliver the website correctly, keep it running reliably and defend against attacks. We do not draw conclusions about you personally and do not combine the data with other data. Log files are deleted after [period according to the hosting provider, e.g. 30 days].
3. No cookies, no tracking
Our website does not set cookies. We do not use analytics, tracking or advertising services (for example Google Analytics or social media pixels). There is no newsletter and no comment function.
4. Contacting us
You can reach us by phone, email or through the contact form. With the contact form we process the details you enter: name, email address, message and, voluntarily, company and phone number. The message is delivered to us by email. We do not store it in a database on the website.
We use your details only to answer your enquiry and, where applicable, to prepare an offer or a contract. We do not pass them on for advertising purposes.
To protect against misuse (spam), the form contains a hidden field and limits the number of messages per sender. For this purpose the website stores an irreversibly hashed identifier of your IP address for at most one hour. No third-party services are embedded, not even a CAPTCHA.
5. Fonts and external content
The fonts (Poppins) are hosted on our own server. Opening the website does not create a connection to Google Fonts or other font services. We also load images, scripts and styles exclusively from our own server.
6. Links to other websites
Our website contains links, for example to LinkedIn. These are plain links: no data is transferred to the providers unless you click them. After the click, the provider’s privacy policy applies.
7. Publishing on LinkedIn
When we publish an article, it may be shared automatically on LinkedIn. For this, the server transmits the title, excerpt, image and link of the article to LinkedIn. No data of website visitors is transmitted. LinkedIn’s privacy policy applies to processing at LinkedIn.
8. Hosting and disclosure of data
The website is hosted by Tiptec GmbH (Switzerland). The hosting also includes our email mailboxes. The provider processes data only on our behalf and for these purposes. Beyond that, we disclose personal data only if we are legally required to or you have consented.
We do not systematically disclose personal data abroad. In email traffic, a message may technically pass through servers abroad if the sender or recipient uses a provider there.
9. Legal bases
We process personal data where it is necessary to operate the website (legitimate interest in secure and stable operation), to answer your enquiry or to prepare and perform a contract, where you have consented (for example by submitting the contact form) and where we are legally obliged to. Under the GDPR these are Art. 6(1)(a), (b), (c) and (f).
10. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the respective purpose. We delete enquiries once they are dealt with and no retention obligation applies. Business records are kept for the statutory periods (generally ten years).
11. Data security
The connection to our website is encrypted with TLS (https). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Absolute security cannot be guaranteed for data transmitted over the internet. If you prefer to give us information in another way, for example by phone, you are welcome to do so at any time.
12. Your rights
Within the scope of the applicable data protection law you have the right to:
- information on whether and which personal data we process about you,
- correction of inaccurate data,
- deletion of your data or restriction of processing,
- receive or transfer your data in a common format,
- object to processing,
- withdraw a consent you have given, with effect for the future.
Write to us at estarke@essc.ch. We may ask for proof of your identity.
You also have the right to complain to the competent data protection authority. In Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch).
13. No automated decisions
We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing and do not carry out profiling.
14. Changes
We may amend this policy, for example if we change the website or the legal situation changes. The version published on this page applies.
